Explore Eastern Canada on this eleven-day tour featuring a cruise along the naturally stunning 1,000 Islands, a visit to the walled city of Quebec, rocky and relaxed Peggy’s Cove, and history-rich Pier 21.
We begin our journey this morning travelling to the Thousand Islands National Park in Kingston for a one-hour boat cruise. We will see a part of the archipelago of 1,864 islands that straddles the Canada –U.S. border. After lunch we depart for Quebec City. Check-in at our hotel and evening leisure.
After breakfast we depart for Fredericton, stopping for lunch along the way. We arrive at our destination early evening. Check-in at hotel and evening at leisure. (B)
Today we cross the Bay of Fundy, known for having the highest tidal range in the world. We have a photo stop at the Reversing Falls, rapids which empty into the Bay of Fundy. We board a ferry in Saint John and reach the port of Digby in the province of Nova Scotia. We arrive in Halifax for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Following breakfast, we meet our local tour guide for a full day tour including the city of Halifax, Peggy’s Cove and the Swiss Air monument. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
This morning we visit Pier 21, Canada’s National Museum for Immigration and famous gateway for thousands of immigrants. Our guided tour includes a short film, access to the Chiodo Harbourside Gallery and the Scotiabank Family History Centre.
We stop for lunch at the Mic Mac Mall departing early afternoon for Baddeck. Hotel check-in and dinner with group. (B, D)
After breakfast we enjoy a full day tour of the Cabot Trail embracing one of the most beautiful scenic drives in the world, named after the famous explorer John Cabot. We return to Baddeck for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Following breakfast we depart for a relaxing cruise from Caribou to Wood Islands arriving in Prince Edward Island, the smallest province. Arrival in Charlottetown for an afternoon and evening at leisure. (B)
Morning breakfast and then a full day guided tour of Prince Edward Island. We will visit the historic Province House where the Fathers of Confederation first met to establish the Canadian Constitution. We also visit the Anne of Green Gables’ Heritage Home (famous best-selling novel by Lucy Montgomery). Take time to admire the natural beauty and spectacular scenic landscape of this wonderful island.
This evening we savour a traditional P.E.I. lobster dinner. (B, D)
Today we leave Prince Edward Island by crossing Confederation Bridge, the longest in the world and one of Canada’s top engineering achievements of the 20th century. En route to Edmundston (New Brunswick) for an overnight, we stop at the famous Hopewell Rocks, famous for having one of the highest average tides in the world. (B)
Early departure for Montreal. Short stop near Quebec City for lunch and shopping. Arrival in Montreal with leisure time before dinner with your group. (B, D)
Following breakfast and check-out of our hotel, we meet our local tour guide for a panoramic tour of Montreal. We take time for lunch before departing for our ride back home. (B)
