Itinerary

Day 1: MADRID > ZARAGOZA > SAN SEBASTIÁN

Departing from central Madrid, depart towards Zaragoza. Free time in Zaragoza. Head towards San Sebastián to enjoy a panoramic city tour of this marvellous city and its landscape, such as the magnificent La Concha beach. Overnight in San Sebastian.

Day 2: SAN SEBASTIÁN > BILBAO > CASTRO URDIALES > SANTANDER

En route to Bilbao, we will stop at Mount Igueldo, where the views from the top are simply incredible. In Bilbao outside view of The Guggenheim Museum and visit the old fishing village, Castro Urdiales. Free time in Bilbao. Departure to Santander, a port city well-known for the Sardinero Beach and the Magdalena Palace. Free time and accommodation. Meals: B

Day 3: SANTANDER > SANTILLANA > COVADONGA > OVIEDO

Morning in Santillana, one of the most important artistic towns of Spain, with architectural treasures such as the Collegiate of Santa Juliana, a Jewel of the Romanesque Architecture in Cantabria. Stop at Covadonga, where you will have free time to visit the Sanctuary and the Grotto. Departure towards Oviedo in the afternoon and free time in the city, a location of various World Heritage sites such as The Cathedral, of gothic Asturian architecture. Meals: B

Day 4: OVIEDO > LUGO > A CORUÑA

Depart Oviedo westward towards Galicia until Lugo. Free time in this city to admire the Roman city walls declared World Heritage Properties in 2000. Leave for A Coruña and enjoy a panoramic drive through its main avenues to admire the glass house galleries of Galician architecture. A brief stop for pictures at the wonderful monument of Torre de Hercules, which dates back from the Roman period. Free afternoon in which you have the possibility to join an optional tour to the Rias Altas. Meals: B

Day 5: A CORUÑA > SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Departure towards Santiago de Compostela, one of the most important sites for Christian Pilgrimages in Spain as it is the end of the Camino de Santiago, built during the Roman Empire and World Heritage remain. City tour with entrance fee to the Cathedral and visit to the Obradoiro. Free afternoon to explore this university city. Meals: B

Day 6: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA > RIAS BAIXAS > LA TOJA > VIGO

Departure towards Viana do Castelo (Portugal). Free time in the city and departure to Braga for a shortstop. Departure to Porto. Meals: B

Day 7: VIGO > VIANA DO CASTELO > BRAGA > PORTO

Day 8: PORTO

Panoramic sightseeing tour of Porto, a World Heritage city, we will admire its Cathedral, Stock Exchange building and Santa Clara church. Optional visit (afternoon) to a winery, tasting included. Meals: B

Day 9: PORTO > COIMBRA > FATIMA

Head to Coimbra, the seat of one of the oldest universities in Europe and cradle of Fado. Free time in the city. Departure to Fatima, a centre of the Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its amazing Basilica and Cova da Iria. Virgin Mary appeared at the Chapel of the Apparitions, hearth of the sanctuary and location of the tombs of the three shepherds Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. Optional attendance to the procession of the candles. Meals: B

Day 10: FATIMA > BATALHA > NAZARE > ALCOBAÇA > LISBON

Visit the Gothic and Manueline Monastery of Batalha, World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Head towards the fishing town of Nazare. Free time. Departure towards Alcobaça, visit the XII C. Monastery (World Heritage site since 1989) and the tombs of Pedro and Inés de Castro. On to Lisbon. Accommodation. Optional Fado show at night. Meals: B

Day 11: LISBON

Panoramic morning tour of Lisbon through its most emblematic sites, such as the Belem Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery. Free afternoon to visit this beautiful city and to explore the narrow twisting “Ruas” of the city center, where Fado sounds will make you go back in time. Meals: B

Day 12: LISBON > CÁCERES > CÓRDOBA

Leaving early morning towards to Cáceres, World Heritage city for its blend of different architectural styles. Walking tour through the Old Town and the Medieval Quarter. Continue towards Córdoba, once the capital of the Caliphate. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Meals: B, D

Day 13: CÓRDOBA > SEVILLA

Tour of Córdoba, visiting its Mosque and the narrow mind-blowing streets of the Jewish Quarter. Afternoon departure to Sevilla, two hours away. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Meals: B, D

Day 14: SEVILLA

Panoramic visit of Sevilla, visiting the exterior of the Cathedral (second largest in the Catholic world), the picturesque Santa Cruz quarter with winding alleys and the omnipresent legend of Don Juan, which took place in this district, Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Free time to explore the city and its gastronomy. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel. Optional Flamenco Show at night. Meals: B, D

Day 15: SEVILLA > GRANADA

Scenic drive through the Caliphate road, the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms on 1492 towards Granada. Visit of the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens, the inspiration of many authors for its sights and views, such as the “Tales of the Alhambra” by W. Irving. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optional Flamenco show in Sacromonte quarter. Meals: B, D

Day 16: GRANADA > VALENCIA

Morning drive towards Valencia via Murcia and Alicante, second largest city of the Valencian region. Arrive in Valencia, one of the most important cities of the Mediterranean coast thanks to its impressive buildings such as the Arts and Sciences Architectural Complex. Meals: B

Day 17: VALENCIA > BARCELONA

Panoramic city tour of the city, through the old quarter and pas the old riverbed of the Turia towards the avant-garde complex of Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias to admire its buildings from the outside. Early afternoon departure to Barcelona following the coast of Mediterranean through Tarragona and the Roman Tarraco area. Meals: B

Day 18: BARCELONA

Morning tour of Barcelona, famous for the Olympic Games held in 1992. Panoramic visit of the modernist World Heritage buildings of Gaudí, such as La Pedrera and Casa Milá, the Olympic Ring, the Columbus Monument, the harbour ant the city. Free afternoon to enjoy this vibrant city, full of interesting sights and exquisite gastronomy. Meals: B

Day 19: BARCELONA > ZARAGOZA > MADRID

Departure towards Zaragoza, the capital city of Aragon and one of the most important Spanish cities through the history of the country. You will enjoy some free time to visit the Basilica of Our Lady Pilar. Head towards Madrid. Meals: B
